This workshop is designed to give actors a practical roadmap to building a professional voiceover career. Michael Hillberg is an award-winning actor and voice actor based in Los Angeles, working across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. A graduate of the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA), Michael has built an international voiceover career spanning more than 500 productions across commercials, animation, television, corporate narration, ADR and dubbing. His credits include work for broadcasters such as Netflix, Disney, Universal, Nickelodeon and Warner Brothers as well as global brands like Pepsi, Spotify, Hotels.com, American Express, Amazon, Google, alongside leading European broadcasters and production companies. As well as performing, Michael has coached actors in the voiceover industry for several years, helping them develop not only their performance technique, but also the business knowledge needed to build a sustainable career. One of the unique aspects of Michael's career is his experience working across multiple international markets simultaneously, giving actors insight into how the voiceover industry differs between the US, UK and Europe, and how to position themselves globally. Drawing on this experience, the workshop combines practical industry knowledge with real-world insight to help actors confidently navigate today's ever-changing voiceover landscape. DAY 1 - VOICEOVER INTENSIVE:
This full day workshop is designed to give you both the creative and business tools needed to work successfully as a voice over artist in the US and international markets:

Knowledge about how the voice over industry works and how you can use it to your advantage

Building your voiceover business (including representation, direct clients, networking, marketing and online casting platforms, long-term client relationships etc.)

Understanding AI, protecting your voice and positioning yourself for the future of the industry.

Learn microphone and vocal techniques that will enhance your performance in the studio

Developing a competitive demo that reflects today's market and your individual casting type

You'll leave the workshop with an industry-standard professional demo and a clear strategy for approaching agents, studios and clients.
DAY 2 - INDIVIDUAL COACHING:
The one-on-one session is a 30 minute individual chat with Michael before your recording session where you get to go through your selected scripts to make sure that you have a good and varied selection in different genres so that you are as prepared as possible for your session in the recording studio.
The session is also aimed to give some feedback and individual guidance on how to identify the next steps in your voiceover career based on your current experience, goals and market positioning.
*The one-on-one will take place on Zoom or over the phone and you will be assigned a time slot on the workshop day.
DAY 3 OR 4: PROFESSIONAL DEMO RECORDING
Each person gets one hour in a professional recording studio with an audio engineer. The session will give you plenty of time to work on each of your 6 selected scripts with direction from Michael to make sure you get the best possible outcome.
After the session, your audio samples will be professionally edited to meet the standards of the voice over industry. You will receive the audio samples individually as well as edited together in a voice reel.
*The recording session will take place at VoiceTrax West studios in Studio City and you will be assigned your individual time slot on the workshop day.
